School will be starting in 45 days. This will be the second year I am teaching the Read 180/ System 44 program. Last year was a year of learning and trial and error. My students and I learned a lot last year and I am hoping this year will be smoother. I feel more confident in what I am teaching and ways to make the content more engaging. I have found a schedule and different strategies that I will be implementing this year. I am excited to work with new students and help them become more successful in reading. Last year many of my students saw progress and were very excited that they could see it. Hopefully they will continue to grow and be successful in the years to come. When I was first asked to teach the program I was not sure out how it would work. I was also worried about how the students would react to being in an intervention program. It was not easy but I believe that I made a big difference in a lot of students lives last year. I can not wait to see what this next year will bring.
Now that it is about halfway through July all I can think about is the next year. This is my 4th official year of teaching and my 6th year of experience teaching. Every year I have done something new and this year is no different. I have made mistake and had challenges in all years but I continue to improve myself and try to become the best teacher I can. I can not wait to see what this year will bring. I will be working with students to help them become better readers. I really think this is my calling. I love helping student learn that they can do anything they put their mind to. Reading effects every part of education and if I can give student confidence in reading I can give them confidence in anything.
I am always tried new things in hopes of learning something new I can use personally or professionally. This is the first time I have create a website. It has been fun. I am enjoying trying all the new things and creating something that is mine. I want to make this something that I can carry through my teaching career. This is a great tool to use to communicate with students as well as parents. I am hoping this will be a positive experience and I and going to learn a lot from it.
